Biography / Obituary / Life Story

Patrice was born in Douala, Cameroon in January 1976 to Felix Djeumo and Louise Mutcheu. He immigrated to the US (Los Angeles) in 1999 to be with his brothers and to pursue his dreams. Patrice passed away the evening of Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from a short illness, with the love of his family around him. Patrice graduated from High School at the Lycee d ‘Akwa in Douala, From LA Trade Tech College with degree in Electronics, received a Master’s degree in quality assurance in 2013 and worked for Fresenius as Sr. Post Market Surveillance Specialist for the last 16 years.

Patrice and Brigette met 15 year ago and together they have two Kids, Brice (12 years old) and Micheal (10 years old). Patrice was predeceased by his Mother, Louise Djeumo ; siblings, Happi, Guy, Jeanne; and Jaqueline Djeumo. Patrice was a very outgoing person and a person willing to learn new things. He never liked to have anyone's attention focused on him and was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He was humble and kind and always willing to share. Patrice was an action-
packed accomplisher and was never tired. When Patrice
wasn’t taking or traveling over the world, he spent a lot of his time with family, kids, playing games and enjoying advising people on how to conduct themselves in life almost like a personal coach.

Patrice had the mind of a philosopher, he was always thinking deeply about the world around us as an immigrant in the USA. Patrice's presence would captivate a room, his laugh and advice was infectious and you couldn’t hear it and not burst out thinking or laughing with him. He was the life of the party and will be sorely missed.

It is still hard to believe that somebody who had as much energy as Patrice did could be gone so soon. He loved enjoying soccer with his friends and family, and was a multiple times champion in swimming. In so many ways, Patrice was immortal to us. He was so creative, so brilliant and so alive - but quietly so. He did not need fame or fortune or recognition to know that what he embarked upon was a good thing. He just knew.

Preceding Patrice in death was his older sister Rosalie Djeumo, his Father Felix Djeumo and grandpa and uncles. A memorial donation has been set up in remembrance of Patrice’s life and in honor of his extraordinary commitment to his kids and family. Your generous contribution will help to continue Patrice’s legacy and to support his kids and the kinds of students he guided throughout his life.
